Netscape Search uses the Google database for most of its search results. Some listings returned are drawn from the Open Directory. There is also a free web site submission link that takes you to the Open Directory site. As with many other search providers, to rank on Netscape means being listed or indexed elsewhere.

The good news is free web submission is still available through both Google and the Open Directory.
