The editors are volunteers who have to be dedicated to their task considering the volume of submittals they must receive. Read their free search submission guidelines carefully and follow them.

ODP supplies listings to a number of other engines, making a good listing very valuable indeed. Google's directory section is powered by the Open Directory database.
